This has definitely been a pivotal year.
I’m doing the things I journaled about doing in 2021. I said I wanted to take four years to learn design like I majored in it, but it actually took that long to start doing it full-time.
Grateful for everyone who’s been a part of the journey :) Let’s get into this year in review ⬇️
Stats
New projects: 15 (11 branding, 4 graphic design, also some repeat client projects)
Books read: 10
Blogs/articles/PDFs: Countless!
Creative chats: only 4?! Gotta get those numbers up this year.
Coffee intake: 2 cups/day, sometimes an afternoon cold brew or tea 😁
Milestones
Got featured on Behance’s packaging page
Got bangs
Quit my 9–5?! & started freelancing full-time? Like what!??!
Hit my goal sales month (then hit it again & again!)
I now know how to fix a flat tire.
Lessons
You can do so much more than you think you’re capable of.
Good things take time.
Do more things that scare you. Take another (calculated) risk. There’s so much waiting for you on the other side of your fears!
Your energy is what makes people want to work with you. Focus on the work, but don’t forget your own well-being.

This year totally had its ups & downs.
Starting with a bit of a pause on freelancing due to 9–5 work, stress & anxiety. It took a while to recover even after quitting that job, but I could not be more grateful for where I am now.
It’s been a little over six months since I went full-time freelance so I’m still finding my way but I’m so ready for what the next year holds.

I’ve been thinking about knitting/crochetting a lot lately. As a creative, I’ve always loved making things my self. Big DIY-er, big ‘I can make that myself’-er. Maybe it’ll be a hobby of mine one day, but for now I’ll admire the talents of textile art like Saffy McNamara & Hayley Mortin of Dazy Chains.
A fun color tool called Colorable to help with contrast but also loving the color palettes it generates.
Print Magazine dropped their best book covers of the year list. So hard to narrow down a favorite. Book cover designers really do minimalism righttt. Also, why does yellow type over an image make for good design?
A recap on some wordmarks I’ve designed this year :)

Hope you all have happy holidays!
