I’ve been noticing a shift in two directions within creative industries.
Some studio owners & freelancers are starting to rethink their practices or processes to be more intentional & meaningful & less about exponential growth & algorithms (this especially).
I’ve been trying it myself. Shifting my content from educational to experimental. Sharing more of my personal work & inner thoughts in an attempt to attract a more aligned online community & entrepreneurs to work with.
Saying f the algorithm & create for my own benefit. That’s the best way to produce authentic work anyway, right?
But is that harder to do in 2025? Is authenticity on its way out?

The other shift is leaning towards AI of course.
It’s leaning towards quick fixes, shallow work & in most cases, outright deception & copyright infringement.
So what happens to the artists & designers who have dedicated everything to their craft? Not only when their work gets stolen, but also their jobs? (& not to mention, it’s usually by someone with less talent, dedication & integrity, sorry lol)
Should we be stooping to their level just to stay ahead?
Should we rephrase that to sound like we’re just keeping up with the times?

I’m not sure I have a fully fledged opinion on AI just yet.
The creative (& human) in me is so anti-AI, but I don’t want to be left behind because I refuse to adapt.
I think back to when painters thought they’d go out of business when photography came around, but it only created more art & more ways to create it.
It’s not the tool that’s inherently bad, it’s how you use it.
So while AI seems to be taking over, remember how valuable the human touch is. The intention, the nuance, the history, the style, etc- that’s something that can never be replaced.
Remember that it’s just a tool that can help you.
I hope you continue to be your most authentic self because that’s exactly what we need more of right now.
Trust that intention, authenticity & the human aspect to creative work can never be out.

A site I’ve been obsessed with lately. Discovered it for it’s beautiful design, stayed for the music!
Stunning watercolor art by Emma Larsson.
A really inspiring person & website. I love how she creates a world with her site, neatly organizing her unique combination of services & interests 😌
Love gradients & want to learn more? I had no idea there were so many kinds, but this site is a fun resource & might help direct some more intentional design decisions.
